1. Who we are, and acceptance
This platform is operated by Angad Freights, a company registered in California, trading as Book A Yard ("we," "us," "the platform"). By using this site to search for, book, or pay for parking — or to list a yard — you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
We are not a parking yard. Every yard listed here is owned and operated by an independent property owner. We provide the software you use to find a space, book it, sign the parking agreement and present a gate pass — nothing more. See §11.
2. What this platform does
We connect drivers who need truck and trailer parking with property owners who have space. Through this site you can check real availability, hold a space, submit driver and vehicle details, upload compliance documents, electronically sign a parking agreement, choose a payment method, receive a booking number and invoice, and present a QR gate pass at the yard.
You pay by card here, and the money goes to the yard rather than to us. Card is the only way to pay for a booking made on this site. Card payments are handled by Stripe and land in the yard's own Stripe account — we never hold your payment on our books and we take no commission from it. A card payment confirms by itself, so your gate access is ready as soon as you have paid.
Cash, a bank transfer, and a card machine at the gate are none of them options when you book online. All three need somebody at the yard — to take the money, to run the terminal, or to watch for a transfer arriving — so all three happen at the yard instead: if you turn up without a booking, or where the yard has arranged it with you beforehand. §6 explains when. Some yards cannot be booked on this site at all yet; where that is so, the site tells you rather than letting you start.
Refunds on a card payment are sent back automatically. A bank transfer or cash refund comes from the yard, not from us — that money never reached us, so we cannot return it on their behalf (§7).
3. Accounts and how we authenticate you
After your first booking you have a driver account tied to your email and phone. You can sign in either with a one-time code sent to your email, or with a password if you choose to set one. Property owners and yard staff sign in with an email and password.
You are responsible for keeping your email account and any password secure, because that is how we verify it is you.
Your email address is verified by one-time code before a booking is created. Phone numbers are not currently verified.
4. Accurate information
You agree to provide true, current, complete information and to upload documents that are genuinely yours and unexpired. We may reject or ask you to re-upload any document that is unclear, expired, or does not match your booking, and we may decline or cancel a booking if required documents are missing.
5. Availability, holds, and pricing
- A space is held for 15 minutes while you complete your details. If you do not finish, the hold expires.
- If you get as far as entering details but never choose a payment method, your space is released 2 hours after you started, and becomes available to others. You can still come back and finish, but the space may no longer be there.
- Rates are set by each yard per vehicle type and may be hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly. For longer stays we automatically calculate the cheapest lawful combination of those rates for you — you are never charged more than the best available mix.
- The rate applied is the rate in effect when your booking is created.
- The price you are quoted is the price you pay. Any applicable taxes are already included in it — nothing is added at checkout. The yard you book with is responsible for accounting for and remitting whatever tax is due on that amount under its local and state law. Book A Yard does not assess, collect or remit tax, and your payment does not pass through Book A Yard — it is made to the yard.
- A small number of spaces at each yard are held back as an operational buffer and are not offered for booking.
6. Payment
- A booking you make on this website is paid by card, before you arrive. Card is the only way to pay for a booking placed here. It confirms straight away, so your gate access is ready as soon as you have paid.
- You can't pay cash, by bank transfer, or by card at the gate for a booking you make on this website. All three need someone at the yard — to take the money, to run the terminal, or to watch for the transfer arriving — so all three are handled at the yard rather than here.
- Yards can still take cash, a card, or a bank transfer from you in person. If you turn up without a booking, staff create the booking on the spot and record how you paid. A yard can also arrange cash or a card with you in advance and set your booking up the same way. In every one of these cases the money passes between you and the yard, not through this site.
- A bank transfer goes to the yard, not to us. Where a yard accepts one, you send it straight to that yard's own account, and the name your banking app shows you is theirs. Check that name before you send: a transfer cannot be recalled. The yard confirms it, and the yard is the one who refunds it if your booking is later cancelled.
- You will see what a yard accepts before you pay. Not every yard offers every method, and some yards cannot be booked on this website at all yet — where that is so, the site says so rather than letting you start.
- A fleet booking is paid in full to confirm it. However many trucks are on the order, the whole amount is paid when you book — there is no deposit and no balance to settle later.
- Payment must be confirmed before your gate pass will admit you. An unpaid booking will not get you into the yard.
- When you pay, we email you a receipt. Your invoice is generated once your stay is complete, and emailed to you then — it is a document for a stay that happened, so it is raised at the end of it rather than in advance. Both are also available on your booking.
- If a booking is cancelled, you get a credit note instead of an invoice. It shows what you paid, anything kept under §7, and what is being returned. Where a refund is due, the credit note is sent once that refund has actually been issued; where nothing is returned, it is sent at cancellation so you still have the explanation in writing.
7. Cancellation, refunds, and fees
- 48 hours or more before your start date: no cancellation fee.
- Less than 48 hours before your start date: a flat $25 cancellation fee. A yard needs about two days to re-sell a space a cancellation frees up, which is what this window reflects.
- If you paid by card, the card processing fee is not refunded. When a payment is refunded, the card network keeps the fee it charged on the original payment and we cannot recover it. That money never reaches us — this platform takes no commission on your booking — so it is withheld from your refund rather than charged to the yard, which would otherwise be out of pocket on a stay it never got to provide. We show you the exact amount before you confirm the cancellation. It is typically around 3% of what you paid. This does not apply to bank transfers or cash, which carry no such fee.
- You cannot cancel once your start date has passed. From that point the space stays yours for the rest of the booked period, and a no-show can only be recorded after you ask for the space to be released — never on the yard's own say-so. See §7b.
- If you simply do not turn up, we do nothing and you are charged nothing extra. Your space stays held for the dates you booked, the booking runs its course, and what you already paid is not refunded — the space was held for you and could not be sold to anyone else. A yard cannot close your booking and call it a no-show on its own say-so.
- If you tell us you are not coming after your stay has started, you can release the booking from your dashboard and the yard can then close it. You are not refunded — the dates had already begun. In the rare case where that booking was not prepaid (a booking made at the gate, or one a yard arranged with you to settle on arrival), its full total — not the $25 fee — is added to your account and collected on your next booking with us, or payable at the yard.
- If you had already paid and cancelled late, the $25 is deducted from your refund. If you had not yet paid, the $25 remains owed, and will be added to the total of your next booking with us. We identify this by your phone number, email address, or driver's licence number.
- Card refunds are sent automatically as soon as the cancellation is recorded. A bank transfer or cash refund is issued by hand — and because that money went to the yard rather than to us, it is the yard that returns it. We record what is owed to you and chase it; we cannot send it back ourselves, because we never held it.
- If we or the yard cancel your booking, you get everything back — the full amount you paid, with no cancellation fee and no processing-fee deduction. You are not charged for a yard's inability to honour a booking it accepted.
- A booking cancelled because a claimed payment never actually arrived is recorded as cancelled for non-payment.
7a. Being let in before your payment is checked — withdrawn
This no longer applies, and it never applied to anyone. It is kept as a numbered section so that references to §7a elsewhere still resolve.
Until 12 October 2026 this section described a courtesy at yards with nobody at the gate: if you had sent a bank transfer and given us its reference, we might let you in before a person had checked that the money arrived, and if it never arrived the stay became a charge on your account.
It is withdrawn because the situation it covered can no longer arise. A booking made on this website is paid by card and confirms in seconds, and a bank transfer is now only taken in person at a yard where staff are present — so there is nobody to admit on trust and no unchecked transfer to admit them on. No driver was ever admitted this way, and no charge was ever raised under this section.
Nothing replaces it. If a yard cannot confirm your payment, your booking simply stays unconfirmed until it can, and an unconfirmed booking does not open the gate (§6).
7b. Running late, leaving early, or giving up your space
Late happens — breakdowns, weather, a load that ran over. Here is exactly where you stand.
- Your dates stay as booked. Once a booking is made, nobody can move it — not you, not the yard, not us.
- If you turn up late, your space is still there. We hold it for the whole of your booked period and nobody else can take it while it is yours.
- What you lose is the nights you did not use. There is no refund for them, and your end date does not move to make up the time.
- If you stay past your end date to catch up, that counts as an overstay and is charged as one. So if you need longer, have a word with the yard before your end date rather than after.
- Finished early, or not coming at all? Release the space from your bookings page. You will not get money back — you paid for those dates — but it lets the yard sell the nights you are not using, and it closes your booking off tidily. Do nothing and the space simply stays reserved for you.
- A yard cannot close your booking, keep your money and resell your space unless you ask it to. Once your start date has passed, only your own request lets that happen. Nobody at the yard, and nobody here, can decide for you that you did not show up.
7c. Payment disputes
You are entitled to dispute a card payment with your bank, and nothing here asks you to give that up. This section explains what happens when you do, and the one narrow circumstance in which a claim becomes a problem.
Please tell us first, because it is almost always faster. A bank commonly takes 60 to 120 days to decide a dispute, and you are without the money throughout. A wrong amount, a duplicate charge, a refund that has not arrived, or a charge you do not recognise can usually be settled in a day or two. Contact us at contact@bookayard.com with your booking number. This is a recommendation and not a condition — you may go to your bank first, or instead, and we will still help.
The yard answers the dispute, not us. Your payment for parking goes directly to the yard and is never held by us, so your bank takes the disputed amount back out of the yard's own account and the yard is the party that responds with evidence. We give the yard the record we hold of your booking — what was agreed and signed, what was charged, and anything recorded at the gate. We do not investigate the claim, arbitrate it, or decide who is right. Our record is only as complete as what was recorded at the time; at an unstaffed yard that may be very little.
Your booking is unaffected. Opening a dispute does not cancel a booking or end a stay in progress. While a dispute is open we may withhold the yard's payout for that booking, so the money stays reachable for whoever the bank decides it belongs to.
False claims. Almost every dispute is raised in good faith and will be treated that way. Separately, where someone knowingly tells a bank something untrue to recover money for parking they did use, or threatens a dispute to pressure a yard into a discount or refund they are not entitled to, we may ask them for their account of it and then stop their account making new bookings under §13 — leaving their history, documents and existing stays untouched. Where there is a genuine suspicion of fraud we may pass the booking record to the yard, to the bank, or to law enforcement.
To be unambiguous about the limit of that paragraph: losing a dispute is not a false claim, being mistaken about a charge is not a false claim, and disagreeing with a yard is not a false claim. It reaches only a statement the person making it knows to be untrue. A dispute raised in good faith and decided against you has no consequence for your account.
7d. Vehicles left behind, and removal
A vehicle left in a yard more than 15 days past your booking end date, without a renewed and paid booking, is treated as abandoned. The yard may then begin the removal process set out in the parking agreement you signed — which includes charging for the days it stays, asserting a storage lien where the law allows one, and having the vehicle towed and stored at your expense.
Before that point, a vehicle still in the yard is charged at the daily rate under §7b, and the yard is expected to try to reach you first.
A yard will not remove a vehicle during a period you have paid for, unless it is not the vehicle named in the booking, it is blocking access or an emergency route after you have been asked to move it, it presents a serious safety risk, or the information or documents you gave us turn out to be false.
Notice, towing, storage and any lien sale are governed by the law of the state the yard is in, not by us. Where that law gives you more protection than the agreement does, the law applies. The yard is responsible for following it, including signage and notifying the registered owner and any lienholder.
We do not order, authorise, carry out or supervise any removal, and we do not resolve disputes about one. On request from you, the yard, or law enforcement we will hand over the booking record we hold, which is a record and not a finding — see §11. A complaint about a removal goes to the yard and the tow operator, and to whatever route your state provides. Nothing here limits any right you have under towing or vehicle law.
A company holding a block of spaces is covered by the equivalent clause in its own block agreement, measured from the end of its term.
8. Reviews
After a stay you may leave a rating and review of the yard. Reviews are published publicly on that yard's listing, along with any reply from the yard operator, but without your name or contact details. Do not post anything unlawful or knowingly false. Yards may reply, but cannot delete a review.
9. Terms for property owners
If you list a yard:
- You confirm you own the property or are authorised to offer it for parking, and you must upload a document evidencing that.
- Every listing is reviewed by us before going live, and we may reject or later disable a listing. If we disable one, we will tell you why.
- You set your own rates. You are responsible for the accuracy of your listing, its photographs, amenities, and access hours.
- You are responsible for the physical condition, security, and lawful operation of your yard, and for any local permits or zoning your use requires.
- Tax on your bookings is yours. The rate you set is the all-in price the driver pays — we never add tax on top of it at checkout. You are responsible for working out, collecting out of that amount, reporting and remitting any sales, use, parking, occupancy or other tax your local and state law applies to the parking you supply. We do not assess, collect, report or remit tax on your behalf, we do not hold your customers' money, and nothing we show you is tax advice. Set your rates accordingly.
- You may invite yard staff. You remain responsible for what your staff do with the access you grant them.
- We take no commission on your bookings. We do not take a percentage of what a driver pays for parking at your yard. Instead we charge a flat monthly subscription for use of the platform, priced by the size of each yard: $49 per month for 1–49 spaces, $99 for 50–99, $199 for 100–199, and agreed pricing for yards of 200 spaces or more. Each yard is charged on its own size. Any signup bonus or promotion we are running at the time you sign up applies to your account — for example a free period before billing starts. What is on offer is shown to you when you sign up and before you are asked for a card, and the offer you were shown is the one that applies to you: a promotion we change or withdraw later does not alter yours. The subscription amount does not change with how much you earn. We will give you notice before changing it.
- Optional paid services are offered separately, and all of them are flat fees — none is a share of a booking. Featured Placement ($29 per month, per yard) highlights your yard at the top of the booking picker, and includes booking recovery at no extra charge: where a driver starts a booking at your yard and does not finish it, we contact them and try to bring them back. Recovery is included only while Featured Placement is active on that yard, and we charge nothing whether or not it works — there is no fee on a recovered booking and nothing is taken out of it.
- You may end any optional service at any time.
Getting paid
- Online card payments are live, and card is the only way to pay for a booking made on this website (§6). Cash, a card, or a bank transfer taken at your own yard — for a walk-in, or an arrangement you made in advance — never passes through us at all.
- A driver's payment goes into your own account, not ours. We never hold your earnings on our own books. A card payment lands in your own Stripe account; a bank transfer goes straight from the driver to the account you gave us, and we never see it.
- If you accept bank transfers, they are yours to run. You choose whether to offer them at all, and you give us the account a driver should send to. Because the money reaches you directly, you confirm each transfer, and you refund it if the booking is cancelled — there is nothing for us to hold, release, or return on your behalf. We show you what this involves before you switch it on. To take online payments for your yard you must have a Stripe account created through our onboarding; Stripe does not allow an account you already hold to be connected to a platform, so this will be a new account even if you have one already. Stripe can reuse your existing business details to shorten it.
- Stripe's own processing fees are charged to you by Stripe, at Stripe's standard rates. We do not add anything on top of them and we do not receive any part of them. So the amount reaching your balance is what the driver paid less Stripe's fee — we take no commission, but Stripe is not free.
- Stripe does not give its fee back when a payment is refunded. If a stay is cancelled and the driver is refunded, Stripe keeps what it charged you to take the payment in the first place. That cost is yours, not ours, and we do not add to it. To stop a cancellation leaving you out of pocket, the amount we return to the driver is reduced by that fee — so what you keep covers it. See §7 for how cancellations are worked out.
- We set the payout timing on your Stripe account, and Stripe will tell you so. Your Stripe dashboard will show a notice that your account is administered by Book A Yard. That covers payout timing and nothing else: the account is in your name, the money in it is yours, and your payout goes to your own bank.
- You are paid 7 days after each stay ends. Your earnings stay in your Stripe balance until the stay is finished, and we then release them. This short hold is what lets us put a driver right. If a yard cannot take a truck it has already accepted, or a stay cannot go ahead, the driver gets their money back instead of being told to chase it — which is only possible while the money is still there.
- Refunds and payment disputes come out of your Stripe balance. Where a driver is refunded for a stay at your yard, or their bank reverses a payment, that amount is your cost and Stripe takes it from your balance. If a dispute is outstanding we may hold your payout until it is resolved. We will tell you when we do and why.
- You answer your own disputes, and only you can. Because the payment went to your Stripe account, Stripe accepts evidence from you alone — we cannot respond on your behalf. Your open disputes are listed on your Payments & plan page with the amount, what the cardholder claimed, the deadline, and the booking record we hold. If nobody responds by the deadline the dispute is lost automatically, and the disputed amount leaves your balance along with the bank's own dispute fee. Some banks accept no response at all; where that is so, we say it rather than showing you a date to work to. See §7c for how we treat a claim made dishonestly.
10. Yard staff
Staff accounts are invited by a property owner and limited to a single yard. Staff can scan gate passes, check vehicles in and out, and record that a cash or card payment was collected. Staff cannot confirm Zelle payments, download driver documents, or see yard-wide financial information.
11. Our role, and the limits of our responsibility
We are a marketplace, not a parking operator. We do not own, lease, manage, staff, patrol, secure, or control any yard listed on this platform. We do not take possession, custody, or control of any vehicle, trailer, cargo, equipment, or personal property at any time. The parking itself is an arrangement between you and the yard owner, on the yard owner's land, governed by the separate Parking Liability Agreement that you review and sign as part of booking.
What we are not responsible for. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss of, or damage to, any vehicle, trailer, cargo, equipment or personal property, nor for any injury, arising from:
- theft, vandalism, or the criminal acts of third parties at any yard;
- the condition, security, lighting, fencing, surfacing, access equipment, or suitability of any yard, or the acts or omissions of any yard owner or their staff;
- fire, flood, weather, or other acts of nature;
- collision or damage caused by other yard users;
- a yard being closed, full, inaccessible, or otherwise unavailable on arrival;
- any statement a yard owner makes about their own yard on a listing.
Security is not guaranteed and is not ours to guarantee. Listing details — amenities, fencing, cameras, lighting, staffing, access method — are supplied by the yard owner. We publish them; we do not verify, monitor, or warrant them, and no camera or gate described on a listing is represented by us as functioning at any given moment.
Why liability for the parking sits with the yard, not with us. We are a facilitator. We do not own, operate, staff or control any yard, and we are not a party to the parking agreement you sign with the yard owner. Your payment for parking is made to the yard, not to us — we take no commission on it and your money is never held by us at any point. There is therefore nothing of yours in our hands out of which a loss at a yard could be made good, and a claim about anything that happens at a yard is between you and that yard owner. Raise it with the yard first; we will give you the booking record to support it (see below).
Where we remain responsible. Nothing in these Terms excludes our liability for our own gross negligence or wilful misconduct, for fraud, or for anything that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited — including, in California, anything within Civil Code section 1668. Subject only to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim, and for all claims taken together, will not exceed US$500. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or lost-profit damages, including loss of cargo value, delivery delays, detention, or business interruption.
Claims between a driver and a yard owner are between them. We are not a party to the parking agreement and we do not arbitrate, adjudicate, or settle disputes over what happened at a yard. If something is stolen, damaged, or goes wrong on the ground, the report goes to local law enforcement and your own insurer.
What we will do: give you the record. On the request of either party to a booking — or on request from law enforcement acting on a report — we will provide the booking record we hold, which may include the booking number, the dates, the yard, the vehicle and trailer details declared, the times a gate pass or access code was issued or presented, and any arrival or departure our system recorded. That is evidence, not an investigation, and we make no representation that it is complete: much of it depends on what people reported at the time, and at an unstaffed yard nobody may have reported anything. We share it subject to our Privacy Policy and to applicable law.
12. Electronic signature consent
By checking the agreement box and drawing your signature during booking, you consent to transact electronically and agree your electronic signature is legally binding and equivalent to a handwritten one, consistent with the U.S. ESIGN Act and applicable state UETA law. We record the date, time, and IP address at the moment of signing as part of that record.
13. Suspension
We may suspend or refuse service to anyone who provides false information, submits fraudulent documents, knowingly makes a false payment claim as described in §7c, or violates yard rules — without affecting charges already validly incurred.
Suspension means your account cannot make new bookings. It does not delete your history or your documents, does not cancel a stay you have already paid for, and does not affect your right to a refund you are owed. Where we suspend an account over a payment claim we will ask you for your account of it first.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance for future bookings. The Terms in effect at the time of a given booking govern that booking, and the parking agreement you signed is preserved exactly as you signed it.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
