The policy in one line
Cancel 48 hours or more before your start date and you pay nothing. Cancel inside 48 hours and there is a flat $25 fee. That is the whole policy.
The detail
- 48 hours or more before your start date — no cancellation fee.
- Less than 48 hours before your start date — a flat $25 cancellation fee. A yard needs roughly two days to re-sell a space that frees up, which is what this window is for.
- Once your start date has passed you can no longer cancel — but the space is still yours. See "If you're running late" below.
- No-shows forfeit the whole amount, not $25. The space was held for you and could not be sold to anyone else.
There are no tiers beyond that, no percentage of the booking value, and no penalty that scales with how long you booked for. A one-night booking and a one-month booking are cancelled on the same terms.
If you're running late
Late happens. Here's exactly where you stand.
Your dates don't move. Nobody can change them once the booking is made — not you, not the yard, not us. What that buys you is certainty: the space is held for you for the whole booked period and is not sold to anyone else while you hold it. Turn up on day three of a five-day booking and your space is there.
What you lose is the nights you didn't use. There's no refund for them, and your end date doesn't shift to make them up. Staying past your end date to recover that time is an overstay and is charged as one — so if you need longer, talk to the yard before your end date, not after.
If you're not coming, or you're done early, release the space from your bookings page. You get no refund — you paid for those dates — but the yard can sell the nights you aren't using, and your booking closes off cleanly. If you do nothing, the space simply stays reserved for you.
And nobody can make that call but you. Once your start date has passed, a yard cannot close your booking, keep your money and resell your space unless you have asked it to. Not the yard, not us. A no-show is only ever recorded off the back of your own request — which means an empty space at an unstaffed yard, where nobody could check anyway, is never evidence against you.
And a yard can't close your booking and resell your space unless you ask. Once your start date has passed, only your own request allows it. Nobody at the yard, and nobody here, can decide on your behalf that you didn't turn up.
If you paid by card, the processing fee is not returned
When a card payment is refunded, the card network keeps the processing fee it charged on the original payment, and nobody can recover it — not us, and not the yard. It is typically around 3% of what you paid.
That fee does not come to us. This platform takes no commission on your booking, so the whole amount went to the yard, and the fee came out of what they received. If we refunded you every penny, the yard would be paying that fee out of its own pocket for a stay it never got to provide — and the bigger your booking, the more it would cost them. So the fee is withheld from your refund instead.
You are told the exact amount before you confirm the cancellation, never afterwards.
Bank transfers carry no card fee, so there is nothing withheld and you get everything back — but the yard is the one who sends it, because the money went to them and not to us.
You can't pay by cash or bank transfer when booking here any more, because both need someone at the yard — to take the money, or to watch for the transfer arriving. That does not mean yards stopped accepting them: turn up without a booking and staff will set one up for you on the spot and record how you paid. Some yards will also arrange cash or a card with you in advance.
And if we or the yard cancel on you, you get everything back, fee included. You are not charged for a yard being unable to honour a booking it accepted.
If you had already paid
The $25 — and the card fee above, if you paid by card — is deducted from your refund and the rest comes back to you. Card refunds are sent automatically as soon as we record the cancellation. A bank transfer refund comes from the yard rather than from us — that money was paid straight into the yard's own account and never reached us, so we cannot send it back on their behalf. We record what you are owed and chase the yard for it, and we will tell you when yours has gone out.
If you had not paid yet
The $25 does not disappear because there was no money to take it from. It stays owed, and it is added to the total of your next booking with us. We match it to you by your phone number, email address, or driver's licence number.
You will see it as a separate line on your next booking before you pay, not as a surprise afterwards. If you think a charge is not yours, there is a "This isn't mine" option on it — use it. A disputed charge is suspended while a person reviews it, and it will not be collected in the meantime.
Cancelling
Cancel from your driver dashboard: open the booking and use the cancel action. Before you confirm, it shows you exactly what you will be charged and what you will get back, so there is no guessing.
If you cannot get into your account, use the contact form and we will do it for you. The time we receive your message is the time that counts, not the time we get around to processing it.
If the yard cancels on you
That is not your cancellation and you are not charged for it. If a yard cancels a confirmed booking, or you arrive and cannot get in, you get a full refund with no fee — see I've arrived and something's wrong.
Overstays
If you stay past your booked end date, the extra nights are chargeable at the yard's rate. Two things worth knowing: the rate used is the one that was in effect when your booking was created, not a higher one applied later, and there is a cap — overstay billing stops after 7 nights rather than running indefinitely.
The cleanest way to avoid an overstay charge is to extend the booking before your end date rather than after.
Bookings cancelled for non-payment
If a payment was claimed but never actually arrived, the booking is cancelled and recorded as cancelled for non-payment. If you believe your payment did arrive, send us the confirmation through the contact form — a Zelle confirmation ID or a screenshot is usually enough to resolve it in one exchange.
