How you pay, and why your card details never reach us
You pay by card, and it confirms straight away — so your gate access is ready as soon as you have paid. That is the only way to pay for a booking made on this site.
No card number ever reaches this platform. The card form belongs to Stripe, not to us: there is no card data in our database, no stored card on our side, and so nothing about your card for anyone to steal from us. The money goes to the yard, not to us — it lands in the yard's own Stripe account, and we take no commission out of it.
Some yards cannot be booked on this site yet. A yard whose owner has not finished setting up payments cannot take money here at all, and the site tells you that rather than letting you start. Those yards can still take you as a walk-in.
What about cash, a bank transfer, or paying by card at the gate?
You can't choose any of the three when you book on this website. All of them need a person at the yard — to take the money, to run the terminal, or to watch for a transfer landing — and a booking made online may be for a yard with nobody at the gate.
None of them has gone away. Yards can still take cash, a card, or a bank transfer from you in person. If you turn up without a booking, staff create the booking on the spot and record how you paid. A yard can also arrange cash or a card with you in advance and set your booking up the same way. Either way the money passes between you and the yard, not through this site.
A bank transfer goes to the yard's own account. Where a yard takes one, the payment screen shows you that yard's details and the name your banking app should show you. Check that name before you send — a transfer cannot be recalled. The yard confirms it once it reaches their account, and the yard is the one who returns it if your booking is later cancelled.
When you have to pay
Before you get in. Your gate pass will not admit you until payment is confirmed. An unpaid booking does not open the gate, so paying at the last moment is a risk you take on yourself.
When you pay, we email you a receipt. Your invoice comes later — it is raised once your stay is complete, because it is a document for a stay that actually happened. Both are on your booking page.
Fleet bookings of 2 or more trucks
Paid in full when you book. However many trucks are on the order, the whole amount is paid at checkout — there is no deposit and no balance to settle later. You see the total before you commit to anything.
Bank transfers at a yard: making sure it lands
This applies only to a booking taken in person at a yard that accepts transfers — not to anything you book on this site. A transfer is confirmed by a person at that yard, not by software, so a little care up front saves a slow exchange later:
- Send to the exact address shown on your booking's payment screen, and check the recipient name your bank shows you. Every yard has its own details, so an address from an older booking or a different yard will send your money to the wrong place — and a transfer cannot be recalled. If the name does not match what the screen says, stop and ask the staff.
- Keep the confirmation ID. Enter it, and attach a screenshot if you have one.
- Crop the screenshot to the payment confirmation. We only need that part — not your whole banking screen. It keeps your balance, and any card number that happens to be on screen, out of our hands entirely. We store the image as carefully as your licence either way; this just means there is less in it.
- Send the full amount shown, including any outstanding fee line. The price already includes any applicable tax — nothing is added on top.
If your payment is rejected
You will be told, by email, that it was rejected and why — you will not be left guessing why the gate will not open. The usual causes are an amount that does not match, an unreadable screenshot, or a transfer that never actually arrived.
If you think the rejection is wrong, speak to the yard first — they received the transfer, not us, so they are the only ones who can see whether it arrived. If you cannot resolve it with them, tell us through the contact form with your booking number and the confirmation ID and we will take it up with them.
What a payment does not do
Paying does not transfer responsibility for your vehicle to us. That is covered separately in Is my truck and cargo insured? — worth reading once before your first stay.
