The rule
You are paid 7 days after a stay ends.
Not seven days after the booking was made, and not on a fixed day of the month — seven days after the truck actually leaves. Each booking pays out on its own clock, so money arrives continuously rather than in one monthly lump.
Why we wait until the stay is over
Because paying earlier means taking money back later.
If we paid you when the booking was made, then every cancellation, no-show, and refund after that point would mean asking you to return money you had already banked. Waiting until the stay has finished means what you receive is settled. Nothing about that booking can reverse afterwards.
No-shows still pay out
A forfeited no-show is money you keep, and it reaches you on the same seven-day clock. You held the space for the whole booked period and could not sell it to anyone else, so the booking pays out exactly as though the truck had turned up. Nothing extra is needed from you.
The one thing you cannot do is decide on your own that a driver did not show. A booking whose start date has passed is only closed out at the driver's own request — see Cancellations, refunds and no-shows. Left alone, it runs to its end date and completes normally, which also pays out.
Seven days on top of that is the window for a payment dispute or a refund request to surface.
What you receive
The full amount the driver paid for parking. We take no commission — see What it costs to list your yard.
There are no deductions. Nothing is taken out of a booking — no commission, and no fee on a booking we recovered for you. Optional services are flat monthly fees billed separately to your card, never netted off what a driver paid.
Cash and bank transfers taken at your yard
Money you take in person never passes through us, so there is nothing for us to remit — you already have it. That covers cash, your own card terminal, and a bank transfer paid straight into your account. None of those bookings appears in a payout.
It also means a refund on one of them is yours to send. We record what is owed to a driver and chase it, but we cannot return money we never received.
How it reaches you
Into your own bank account, out of your own Stripe account. A driver's card payment lands directly in the Stripe account you created during onboarding — it never passes through Book A Yard at all. What we do is release it: seven days after the stay ends, we tell Stripe to pay your balance out to the bank account you gave them.
So there is nothing for you to keep up to date with us. Your bank details live with Stripe, not with us, and you change them in your own Stripe dashboard.
It runs automatically, once a day. Nothing waits on a person here.
Seeing what you are owed
Your Records tab shows the bookings at your yard, their payment status, and gate entry and exit. A stay that has ended and been paid is a stay that will pay out on schedule.
If something looks wrong, tell us with the booking number and we will trace it.
What can hold a payout up
- A driver dispute on that booking that is still open
- A refund owed on that booking that has not been settled
- Stripe onboarding not finished, or payouts not yet enabled on your Stripe account
In the first two cases we tell you which booking and why, rather than letting a payout quietly not arrive.
